Best Grip screw stud has a completely new design and is not designed like a normal screw. A screw is the last thing you want to get in the tire as it causes a puncture, perhaps not immediately but after a while when the tire has worn down. Best grip is flat at the bottom and therefore does not sink more and more into the tire under load.
The design at the bottom is so ingeniously designed that the stud cannot even be screwed through the cord during installation. The large thread makes sure to hold the stud several times longer than a normal “screw” thread, which minimizes the risk of losing the stud after a period of use. With the large thread that holds the stud significantly better, the stud does not need to be screwed as deeply into the tire and can therefore be mounted in tires that have lower lugs.
The Best Grip stud can be mounted in pre-drilled holes or directly in the tire without pre-drilled holes. Best Grip’s high quality carbide tip provides a long service life and is used on everything from light motorcycles to heavy construction machinery. The studs can easily be unscrewed from the tires if you wish to remove them. After removal, barely a mark is visible in the tire.
The stud can also be glued for really extreme use. However, in 99% of cases it is not necessary. The glue recommended is Loctite 496 or 480. The stud is easily mounted with the included sleeve that is mounted in a standard battery-powered drill.
